HOW TO: Create a Knit Cable!
To make a knit cable you’ll knit up to the stitches, slip however many stitches desired into your cable holder (in this case three), then you’ll move that cable holder to the back of your work and knit an equal number of stitches off of your left needle (3). Then, you’ll knit the slipped stitches off of the cable stitch holder, and knit through the rest of your work. Purl your next row, and continue on with your pattern!
A few quick tips for cabling:
*Slip and Knit an equal amount of stitches on both sides of your cable for a uniform look *If knitting on straight needles, alternate knit and purl rows so that you have a right and wrong side of the work *To stack multiple cables in a work, have an even amount of rows between each cable, and at least one stitch between two cables
